Tamara Dean is an author of nonfiction and fiction whose work has appeared in The American Scholar, Creative Nonfiction, Orion, The Progressive, The Southern Review, and several other publications. She's the author of a book about sustainable living, The Human-Powered Home. Her work has been nominated for three Pushcart prizes and honored as a National Magazine Award finalist. She holds an MFA in writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts and has received fellowships from Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts, Mesa Refuge, and the Tyrone Guthrie Centre.
