While there is increasing awareness of the multiple crises facing our planet and its rich biological heritage, public opinion and popular communication are often impeded by misperceptions. This presentation will explore the origins and functions of contemporary natural systems, the relationships between people and nature through time, and the resulting societal and ecological implications. We’ll look at the elements needed for a sustainable future with vibrant human societies and thriving natural systems — and the critical role of outdoor communicators in achieving this.
